Riyan's groccery list

We're training Riyan to list the groccery items. It'll help him to remember and also test his spelling skills... he spelt all those himself. Good job Yayan!!!! very good effort in trying to spell 'peanut'...  SmileyCentral.com

Wallpaper magazine

It's been a long time since i bought the Wallpaper magazine. About 8 years??? Yesss... that was how long it had been. I threw quite a bit of the previous editions that i subscribed. Hundreds of dollars woth of them... due to space constraints at home. Still have a few of my favourites that i still chuck at work  :(

Now that i have new shelvings, i can go back to subscribing them again!!!! Yayyyy!!!!! An all-in-one designer mag!
I'm actually a freak. Not Shrek kinda freak. I am easily conned or to be politically correct, convinced into getting something out of a magazine. Price comes later. Looks come first. So I myself am quite afraid of getting hold of magazines that brings out the evil side of me. I'd either use my hard earned money to get it or some kind soul would get them for me...  ;p

I got some ideas and bought some designer items from Wallpaper. My best buy or rather, gifts, were the carafe bottle and thermos from Eva Solo. I love the clean and drip free look. It's Scandinavian... why must all good designer things come only from there? Their designs are sleek, clean distinct lines and  very minimalist. Eva Solo products are nothing out of the ordinary but it's the little thought they put into the designs that make them appealing and very, very functional. Just what i love. Although i didn't manage to get them online, my friend got them for me when she was in Sydney wayyyy back in 2002??... Thanks Jiahui!!!! Eva Solo was not available at all in SG then. Now The Touch - House of Design and Art carries them plus a range of other Scandinavian designer items.

Nurul's fasting

Alhamdulillah, Nurul managed to fast full day. It's been 3 days since she completed full day of fasting. Riyan is still on half day fasting routine. According to Mak, his appetitte is huge when he breaks his fast at Zohur. He'll have ice cream, garlic bread, jelly, porridge, rice and whatever else mak cooks for the day.

What Riyan enjoys most about the fasting month is the breaking of fast together as a family, all seating at the same table and eating together. He said it's like eating at a "Family Restaurant".  :)

A day before Ramadhan

This entry should be before the previous cos we went shoppning the day before fasting began...  the end of the Great Singapore Sale  :)

Before we get physically tired and not getting to enjoy eating while shopping, i brilliantly decided to get the kids' Raya clothes during the weekend before fasting began. ehehhehehehe

Went to Vivo... my favourite stores : Pumpkin Patch, Bloom B, Kids Stlye, Hush Puppies... got some decently priced kids wear and a shirt for work too. Nurul loved to try on dresses plus the accessories. Finally got her matching accessories with the new lilac dress. She wanted some funky necklace last year from Bloom B but then i told her "nahh..! Too expensive." But she tried on the full set that day and she looked so cute... and prety... plus the salesgirl was doing a good job persuading me to get it. Dammit! what a good service! hheheheheh

Got Riyan a jacket to replace his outgrown one. Been a whileand we finally got to an Adidas one. Nice. Cool dude! Skinny but handsome.  :)

Our favourite Char Kway Teow from Banquet Vivo.

She was so cold that her lips were matching this PP dress. There was another girl in the next cubicle who tried on the same dress. And they came out the same time after puttng the dress on.  ;)

Bloom B's. I love the colour. Just that she was not smiling.

Ramadhan begins

Yesterday marked the first day of the blessed month of Ramadhan. How time flies! With my work load and time spent at work, i didn't realise how Ramadhan was fast approaching. I was and still am tired from work issues and pray that the holy month of Ramadhan would bring out the best in me... making me more patient and a better person both at work and home.

Both the kids were fasting. Riyan woke up at 5am for sahur and had quite a bit of food. Surprisingly he was not cranky and was actually wide awake! But that was because he realised that I was not beside him on the bed. Riyan fasted 1/2 day and broke his fast at Zohor prayer time. He did pretty well, noting that this year was his first. He told mak that he smelled food and couldn't resist anymore. ahahhahah....

Nurul on the other hand was her cranky self. Had difficulty waking up at 5am. Think i'll get her one of those breakfast-in-bed type of table. Something for her to look forward to using and hope to encourage her to wake up to use to 'excitedly'. She didn't manage to fast full day yesterday. Broke her fast at 3pm. But she'd extend by an hour as each day progresses to achieve a full day of fasting.

Sahur for both kids was accompanied by watching Martha Steward. It's a ritual. ahahhahaha...
