Raya! Raya!

They have been waiting for this moment for a while now... leftover 'bunga api's from last year's Raya. Took a good half an hour to finish about 4 boxes of them... will be more fun if more friends or cousins were to join in... call us if you wanna play bugna api, k?

next time i'll get better, more fun shots... suddenly this P&S camera is not as good as it used to be... we just got a new NIKON coolpix for the office and it is awesome!!! for $399! The flash is so strong, background's not dark when taken with flash, unlike some P&S camera.

My young PAP (read: totallly white attire)had a flag painted on his arm. Nurul wore red top and commented school was boring. School ended at 10am for her. She said, no studies, just sang, and sang, and sang.... BORING!

Kids Alive at Masjid Muawadah

Nurul will always bring along a magazine to read with Sarah to pass the time away. This was taken after their Saturday 'Kids ALIVE!' class at Masjid Muawaddah. Nurul is coping real well with the religious class and enjoys doing the mini projects tremendously... with the help of Nyai, of course!! I'm actually amazed at how much she can remember the topics especially the names of Angel and the 'Sirah' of the life of Prophet Muhammed s.a.w. Alhamdulillah....

Me at new work

New work, new eating hang-outs... Novena has soooo many places to chomp-chomp. But a little ex compared to the east. Took Pa and the kids to have dinner at Urban pantry, which is part of Donut Factory. Wanted to Nurul to try the Mac and Cheese but totally forgot about it. We got something else instead... I swear my camera phone is really... "undescribe-able". #@%$!!!!! NO good!

Our second side - fried calamari. Riyan's pallette finally opened up to eating squid. But only in this form. Have to try to persuade him to try crabs. he said, they are too.... crabby!

Mad Jack's

I raved so much about Mad Jack. I love their grilled chicken with black pepper sauce. So we went there for dinner on Sat... at the Simpang branch... my friend Patrick was there slogging hard! Could see his perspiration... ahahhaha

My fav grilled chicken with black pepper sauce. I requested for carrots in replacement of the peach salad only and they just gave me the chicken and loads of carrots... no mashed potatoes. err... look so unappetizing. Think they misunderstood me. So told them to add the fries... I got the salad side from the kid's plate.

Little Miss Giggles

Exactly like the caption on her t-shirt. She couldn't stop giggling when i tried to snap a photo of her for her violin's class registration card. Don't underestimate the sometimes serious and shy girl... she could be a clown at times.

Friends came over

Sarah and tasnym came over during the school holidays to play... while i was at work... i missed Tasnym y 10 mins... i want to cuuuuuuuubiiiiiiiiiitt her chubby cheeks and arms....

I passed by it. Didn't realised it was Halal!!!!! Kampachi Japanese Restaurant, Level 6.

It looked nice.... and would complete my craving for nice Japanese restaurant food at Pavilion, KL.

Some performance...

Teacher Joanne delivered Nurul's new violin last nite. Nurul has now upgraded to size 1/8 from Euro Strings, made in Czechoslovakia. Bonus, it came with nylon strings!! Teacher Joanne got it for her using her teacher-privileged discount -20%!!! Nurul's Sarasate was was taken in at only $60!! Hai yah... the Sarasate was made in China and mass produced with steel strings! No wonder the sound was still screechy and hoarse regardless of the countless times i 'rosined' the strings.

So I paid $240 after the trading... not bad... at least it would appreciate in price as compared to pianos. Plus we got additional new stings.

Teacher Joanne really felt that Nurul was musically inclined and put hope in Nurul. She wanted Nurul to be in the performance, provided Nurul passed her first music exam. That's the criteria. But Teacher Joanne invited Nurul to join in the performance for Children's Day! I know deep down Nurul wanted it too... could see from her smile... she was just too shy to admit it. Teacher Joanne managed to convince her. She was willing to coach Nurul... She wanted Nurul to come for practise this weekend although it was meant to be the music school's holiday (week 5) at no additional charge. Alhamdulillah....

So now it's just time that we have to sacrifice. No fees required. Attire will be tailor-made for all the performers. Coaching will be done during violin weekly class. The concerted rehearsals would be on the last Sunday of every month till Oct 2010.

Nurul is excited. I can't wait to watch....
