Yup. On Monday was the International Friendship Day. Kids celebrated it at school. Nurul chose Indian wear and Riyan: Malay.
Nurul innocently commented that Riyan wore Malay suit but doesn't know how to speak Malay. ;p
Anyway, i got the kids Ben 10 and Strawberry Shortcake stationery case for their gift exchange. But too bad for Riyan, his friends did not take part in the gift exchange thing. He got nothing in exchange. Zilch!
I mean, as parents, we were told to get an inexpensive gift for the kids to exchange with the friends to commemorate the International Friendship Day. Don't the parents feel embarrassed that their kids got something but did not give something else in return?? I really do not understand some parents. I'm not saying that i'm trying to make my money worth by getting something in return... but this is one of the kids' activities. They should be involved in it... at least make sure that their kids are involved in it.
How do you think Riyan felt when he gave something and got nothing -after letting him understand what gift exchange means??
