I've always thought '
Staycation' is an Singlish word.
No, its not! Anyway, when its staycation, it just means one thing. I have
no Annual Leave. Yes, sad but true. Just started off in new workplace, with spanking new office :) So no AL yet. Not till a couple months down the road. Can't wait till June when i'll get all my 24 days AL!!!! WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!
Our first overnight staycation was in
Rasa Sentosa about 2 years back, i think. That was superb cos it was right next to the beach. The room was large with balcony, great swimming pool and complimentary anniversary cake. Downside was that it was not accessible to lots of attractions and Halal food outlet. It was just convenient for us cos we had a car. That time there was a music festival going on so it was packed!
And so, our March staycation began...
I wanted more company for our staycation. The more, the merrier. Cik Ayoon and gang was already at Batam to have a whale of their time. So we invited Amir and Siti... our previleged guests.. ;p Thank you for gracing our staycation....
With the hotel's reservation slip, the entrance fee into Sentosa for our car was free. Checked in exactly at 2pm, after our lunch at Vivo...
Mövenpick is a restored building... think it was formerly an army barrack. It's wayyy too cool a transformation from an army barrack to a contemporary designed Swiss hotel. I loved everything about it when i first got out of the car... it had this row of bollards cum seats that were lit at night. Mövenpick was smack next to Imbiah Station. Accessible. Lots of Halal food and The Luge and Skyride's starting point was there. It was also one stop before the Beach station.... Beach Station - the happening place to be... So, what more could we have asked for... and so we all loved our $329 per nite (gulp!) hotel stay... accomodation only. ;p
We were greeted by great bunch of hotel staff and got our welcome item - a Mövenpick ice cream! Good selection of flavour... think its sea salt and caramel. Our room was upgraded to the Club Floor. We thought, "hey, maybe its a suite, then Amir can stay over..." But in fact, it was the same deluxe room but on their highest floor. Boleh, lah... Good too cos we could see the sea!

I love the Dim Sum idea where they put the cotton buds and other personal toiletries. |

Delight toiletries... of course, i took 'em home.. eheheh |

We even played with their torchlights. |
After meddling with the funky complimentary items, we zoomed off to our activites. Walked to Imbiah Station and up the escalators to the Luge and Skyride. Oh, we watched the 4D movie too!!!! I was screaming almost throughout the movi... and the Caucasian lady next to me too! We both exchanged good laughs after the movie...
Sarpino's Pizza, pasta, KFC are all there. See, we would not starve, but yet we went out to Vivo for dinner at Secret Recipe. We took advantage of the free passes into Sentosa handed out by the hotel, so why not, rite? Did some window shopping while at Vivo... was thinking of watching midnight... but, how would we get back into Sentosa, bearing in mind monorail services end at 12midnight.... hmmmmm....
