Universal Studios Singapore

Brought the kids to Universal Studios Singapore on my last day of leave. My expectations of the place was actually 6/10. I mean, i couldn't compare it to other theme parks like Tokyo Disney or Gold Coast's Movie World. Not that i thought SG has a lower standard but because i know there were still unopened rides and much smaller compared to its counterparts.

But the trip turned out to be better than i had presumed. The kids enjoyed themselves thoroughly, albeit the long waiting time for each ride and the 4D Shrek brought back memories of Movie World. It was the exact same thing!

Anyway, advise to those who intend to go there: BUY TICKETS ONLINE. It would be sold out by the time one reached USS. Heard there was a daily quota. Each of us got a $10 voucher - $5 for meals and $5 for retail upon entry. Parking at the USS was a real killer. It cost us $22 for 8 hours.

Halal food was a little difficult to find in the USS. Should have bought Mc Donald's burger for the kids before going there. There was one Halal eating place in Mel's Drive-In, which we missed for our lunch as we toured that area at our last pit-stop.
There were many people when by the time we got there. Tourists, kids and more kids...

This store was where we saw Ika. She was working there for her school attachment. The souvenirs generally were expensive. Got Riyan a mechanical pencil with a metal dinosaur attached for SG$9.90. The t-shirts cost about SG$23 onwards but i thought the material was a little too thin. It was just for the brand that one would pay for.

Me and Julie... plus my cute golden shoes.

See someone is not in the picture? ahhahaha he was scared!

The big difference between here and MovieWorld is that for the Shrek 4D, we got to get into Shrek's castle which was gorgeous!

And here is Amirus drinking potion bought from Fairy God Mother's stall... he wished to be younger like the boy in the next photo.

This was Riyan's favourite ride. We queued for about 45 minutes for a mere 1 minute ride. His exclamation after each and every ride he took: "huh? so fast??!!"

Riyan drinking dinosaur brain juice.

We were now entering the workd of the Mummy... Anúbis lined the entrance into the area.

Photo the massive structure into the roller coaster ride. And no, i didn't take the ride.

Looked like a real souk in Cairo.

Was he supposed to be Scorpion King?

The world's biggest roller coaster. Closed for repair and maintenance when we were there.

I was told there wsa Halal food inside.

Me and my other favourite person...

Last stop outside the USS. Candylicious. It was huge!
