Mak cut some fruits for me to bring along to work this morning. Plus she fried some extra samosas for me. A couple of days ago she cut half a carrot into thin sticks for my snack at work. The few moments of looking at the snack brought back memories eons ago when i was still swinging single. The time when we both had each other to depend on and fight a common nemesis. Yes, this smiley emoticon really speaks for me and Mak.

My cut fruits and samosa... now that i'm older, i don't have my own tupper-ware, so Mak used Nurul's... ehheheh but i still have the food container that i used when I was in Primary 1. Kept it for memories sake...

I missed the time she would cook early in the morning or reheat left overs, when she was still working, to pack for her lunch as well as mine. I remembered i used to think why i must bring along packed lunch. Why couldn't I go out and get outside food like my other friends? I felt it was so dated to bring home packed lunch. I wanted to join in the lunch gossips and be cool like that, spending money... ehehhehehe
Then when i was in uni, although it was not difficult to get Halal food in QUT campus, i learnt that it's normal to pack things from home... not to mention healthier! Typical human... never appreciate till you lose it. Now that Mak is at home tending to my kids, i didn't want her to specifically get up early to cook for me cos it'd trouble her. And now i understand why she brought home packed food almost every day. It's a hassle to eat outside and one could actually save by bringing packed lunch. And most importantly it was made and prepared with love and concern for me...

I wonder if I would ever be like Mak when Nurul and Riyan grow up... making and preparing them snacks and lunch packs just like Mak did for me...
