I'm sticking no more...

I wanted to get something nice and sweet for my colleagues of 10 years. I saw the sticky ad in the papers last week and it fitted the bill! Exactly what i was looking for. Plus i love the sweets. No matter what flavour, the sweets tasted goooood!
Went to Central with Nurul to get hold of the candy and the jars. It was just a small space at Basement 1 of the mall. Called Sticky. They have tepanyaki style work area where customers could see how the candy was made. Many flavours. All so yummy and not too sweet. I like the custom-made ones with texts. I thought i saw a HDB logo too. Maybe they did something corporate for HDB. If i have the chance to do an event, i'd use this sweet as a party or event favour.

Phew, we made it...!

I usually drive along this new highway that leads to KPE from Bedok Reservoir with Riyan. .And he never complained about my driving.

Some days ago, I was rushing home with only Nurul on the same expressway. She sat at the edge of her seat commenting i was driving too fast.

"You're going waaaaaaay too fast! See, it's more than 100!!!"
"It's ok, Kakak..."
"No ma... see the sign... it says seventy! Not 100."

We went downhill at even greater speed. Then i slowed down and finally halted at the traffic light. And her respond with a cheeky, gap-ey toothed smile... "Phew! we made it!"

My YOG supporter

Nurul - compassionate, very compassionate. Each time we told her we're going for holiday, she'd ask if we were headed to a poor country. She said she'd feel sad if she saw them. She even asked me to not take money from the Karang Guni (Rag-and-bone man in English) cos they look old and poor. Same goes for the old uncle who peddled ice cream down the block. I told her for all we knew, they might even be richer than us!

Nurul - supportive, very supportive.
Cik Yah gave her a YOG (LYO) soft toy. All SSC staff were given one. She loved it very much. Then she realised

The day leading to the BIG fever day!

My mom took Nurul to Johor with Wak Yah for some relative's wedding on May Day. So since the kitchen was quite died down, Pa and I took Riyan out for lunch. Then he was still ok... We went to Vivo cos that's one of our best hang outs. A number of Halal food joints are there and at Harbour Front. I was torn between having to eat delicious Vivo's Banquet Kway Teow or something else... and then i thought i wanted something really satisfying for us parents as well as Riyan, who is a very, very fussy eater. So chicken rice being his fav dish, like mine, we headed for The Chicken rice Shop!

I have always loved this shop since i first tried it out when

Some Hell Week!!

The same day my buddy posted this 21 JumpStreet Hell Week post on Facebook, Riyan had his fever and my 'Hell Week' began.Anyway, Richard Grieco is the best!!!!

For the entire of last week he was on mc by KK CE. His fever was up and down like a roller coaster at times hitting 40.3 degrees centigrade. Got all of us worried to the max... I took care of him, sponging him with icy cold water and turning on the air-con even during the day. So i was on 2 days family care leave. Then the next deal breaker - both my mom and daughter fell sick with fever too. So those two days were spent sponging from one kid to the other. My mom was too weak, so both my kids had to be in my room. Pa and I had to take care of both of them. uooohhh.. my mom was really, really very sick! She just needed to rest.

Anyway,

I'll be out of the building... :(

Sad to say that i'll be leaving my current job. One of the very most difficult move that i ever made. But things happen for a reason and Allah decides what's best for me.

So as of 26 May 2010, i'll be out of my current job. Taking a 10-day break. Back into the workforce on 7 June 2010.

Let's plan for my short break!

ARNOLDS!!!!

I'm a fan of sparklette. Her Arnold's review made me drool. Can't remember the last time we went to the branch in City Plaza. But thank goodness they have a new outlet in Hougang Green Mall!!! YAYYYYYYY!!!!! So close to home... and so my pigging out began...

Our meal of choice.

The skin is thin and so, so crispy and not as oily as KFC. Plus it's super hot!! hmmm... but the coleslaw tasted different from the one at City Plaza branch. The fries at Hougang Green deserves a mention. It's thick and so you can actually taste the potato unlike some that are cut too thin and hollow inside. Try it and let me know.
